Private Rented House or Apartment

How is rent calculated?

If accommodation is advertised with weekly rental price when it comes to calculating the actual monthly cost, the landlord or their agent will calculate your rent as follows:

Weekly cost x 52 divided by 12

For Example: A bedsit in London is advertised at £150 a week. It will cost you £650 per month

How much does it cost?

Depending on location and your budget, a studio flat can start from around £350 a month up to £5000 a month in London. You can also find a two bedroom house in Manchester for £450 up to £2000 a month.

Extra Cost?

Utility bills such as water, electric, gas, landline telephone, internet, TV license etc

Food bills

Can we help?

ThSS UK can advise you with what is available on the market and guide you through the rental procedure. We can also arrange visits & inspection on your behalf if required or if you join our UK Gateway programme we can accompany you to visit and inspect properties. We recommend you to visit any property with us to ensure that you are satisfied with the location and transportation between your rented house/flat and your college.

However, if you are unable to view the property yourself, we will provide you with a brif report of your chosen accommodation. Please contact us for further information

This is the most expensive option of student accommodation if you consider renting the whole accommodation for yourself. To keep the cost down, you can share with friends, please see shared house section. You will enter into a short tenancy agreement of a minimum of 6 months. You will be required to pay a deposit, normally five weeks rent plus one months rent in advance before you can move in. You will have to pay an agency fee plus the cost of your credit search as standard. References and guarantors may be required.
